A slow-burn, forbidden romance. Bodyguard/Princess, enemies to lovers.

Bridget is a princess who never thought she would have to rule, and Rhys is hired to be her bodyguard while she's living in America. It's lust at first sight... until he opens his mouth.

I love a bodyguard trope, and I enjoyed this book and the characters. It wasn't as quick of a read for me as it could have been because of all the time jumps. Every time it happened, it kind of drew me out of the story again, and it happened a lot in the first half of the book. One of the reasons I was excited when I realized the book was starting before the first book had ended was to see a scene from book one play out in either Bridget or Rhys' POV and I was disappointed when that didn't happen.

Looking forward to the next book though, I have a feeling the next couple is going to be a fun handful.

This is me being generous  in one of my last books of this year.

I adored Twisted Love so I flew right into  this book. Knowing it was going to be the least relatable. But yet I was I excited because  it's  a similar story to Young Royals except  adult level maturity and very straight   relationship.  I will say the age gap automatically  impacted this rating to.

Both Bridget and Rhys were often the exact type of people  you expected them to be. And it was very boring sometimes  throughout  the storyline. That said they both are very plain, messy characters  that deserved each other. For mor e than one reason I'm glad I finished this one and can move on to Twisted Hated and Lies.

Got a bit bored towards the last 20% but I enjoyed this nonetheless. There were some bits that needed editing (like the same word repeated twice in a row in a sentence) but overall a major improvement compared to the first book.

A forbidden, royal, body guard, slow burn, enemies to lovers romance? Absobloodylutely yes please!
Bridget is a strong minded sunshine who dreams of falling in love one day. She is suddenly thrust into the line of succession when her brother abdicates the throne. Rhys is a brooding and possessive grump who happens to develop a soft spot for princess Bridget after several years of being responsible for keeping her safe as her bodyguard.
I really loved Bridget and Rhys’ story, ughh. This book felt long but for all the right reasons, it was a journey and I loved living said journey alongside these characters. It didn’t feel rushed like some other instant-love romance books and I loved that about it. It happens over a realistic timeframe across several years, and the multiple POV gave us both of their inner monologues so we got to see the attraction grow for each of them in real time. And I am OBSESSED with the two of them together.
At times this book was cute as hell, and at others it was incredibly steamy🥵. And boy does this book provide quotes to die for in both the cute bracket AND the steamy bracket, holy moly!
Would recommend, so much better than the first book of this series.
Satisfactory ending? Yes.

Wow! Yep, massive Rhys Larsen fan now.

The pacing of Twisted Games was much better than Twisted Love; we got to see the romance build between Bridget and Rhys; it was a slow burn, but perfect! I loved that we saw all the little details that built-up their love story, for example, the indoor festival, the graduation dinner oh, and the bucket list Costa Rica trip.

The only downfall of Twisted Games was the ending; the unravelling of the secret filming/photo leak plot was anti-climatic. And I am still trying to work out the point of some of the characters that were introduced and ended up adding nothing interesting to the story. The ending felt rushed; and, to be honest, a bit cheesy!

Nonetheless, I loved Bridget and Rhys's love story; plus, extremely happy with Alex and Ava's cameos. Oh, I do wish that Twisted Love was the same length as Twisted Games. The time jumps in this were done perfectly, and seeing all those little details and intimate conversations between Bridget and Rhys helped build their chemistry and relationship beautifully.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next Twisted book; I am excited for Stella and Christian's story!

So I don’t really know how I got here, reviewing a Twisted novel on a Thursday night. But here I am.

Okay so this book was a lot of fun. I really did root for Bridget and Rhys from the second the met. It was steamy and fluffy and angsty for sure!

Rhys is so sexy I could just explode! And I really liked Bridget as a female MC too!

I don’t know how I feel about the way time progresses in this book. Years and years pass throughout this book, and while it does add to the dynamic of the love story, it just didn’t let me really get connected with the story the way I like to. Time jumps are not my thing in books and this one had them every other page. I would say that the time jumps made it a fast paced book but unfortunately I didn’t get that from it either. I still felt it was a medium paced book.

And finally, I felt the secrets and palace exploits fell flat. I wasn’t shocked by anything, I didn’t care about anyone besides the main couple because the side characters were not very present or developed.

Over all I give 3.5 because I love Rhys and Bridget but no one else!
