4.5 ⭐️ / 3 🌶

I adored Bridget so much! She’s a queen, in every sense of the word, and my favorite in the friend group so far. The beginning was a bit slow, but I didn’t mind it one bit. It set the foundation for all of the action that takes place later on in the story and it shows the progression of Rhys and Bridget learning to trust one another, so I definitely appreciated all of the build up. Speaking of which, the angst, the banter, the tension between Rhys and Bridget was everything!! Seeing their characters develop so much, both individually and together, made the story that much better. I did not want to put this book down! The plot was really good, the spice was even better! There were twists and turns that I definitely didn’t see coming. Ahhh it was so good!

I almost didn’t go through reading this book, since I was somewhat unimpressed with Twisted Love (I rated it 3.5). But this book. I love Rhys and Bridget, as well as the writing and plot. I struggled to suspend disbelief with Twisted Love, but Twisted Games was the perfect mix of overcoming impossible circumstances and complex, lovable, characters.

This book is mostly a slow-burn, forced proximity, forbidden, spicy romance dusted with a little political intrigue. The characters are flawed but in a relatable, not annoying way. The diversity of the characters and the portrayal of the love interests' metal health issues leaves something to be desired. It is fairly well written and the plot, while not super thick, doesn't have any big holes.

This book was so cute! I loved the banter and tension between them in the first half of the book. There was more spice in this and was better than Twisted Love in my opinion.
