Cute book! Lynn Painter knows how to write a compelling and sweet romance, and this is just what that is. Unfortunately, though, that is the only thing it is. I did not feel emotionally invested in either of the characters' lives outside of the romance. I did love their banter though!

hallie is a stronger woman than me, that’s for sure
This was a hilarious romcom! After a one night stand meeting up and placing a bet on who can find their happily ever after first, fake dating, 1 bed, so much laugh out loud parts! Loved it!

I liked this story more than the previous one in the series! I’m actually pretty happy I read through it. The banter between Jack and Hallie was fun, and you could genuinely see them becoming best friends on top of everything else going on.
There was a couple of tropes in here that I found kinda annoying, such asthe miscommunication, oh he loves her, she loves him. And when she said I DEFINITELY don’t like you, even though she already did, I found that so childish. But overall, I thought it was good! I almost DNF’d a few times because some of the trope-y ness of the book was getting out of hand, but I’m glad I didn’t. Most of the parts I didn’t like would get resolved pretty quickly.
