Love Game

Lynn Painter

3.84 AVERAGE

I’ve determined that I am 100% into Lynn Painter’s humor. She just makes me laugh.

Hallie and Jack have one hot night after his sister’s wedding and then they assume they’ll never see each other again. Until they find each other on a dating app and start talking—and becoming best friends. They jointly decide that their night was a one and done and have a friendly wager on who can find true love the fastest, as a way to motivate themselves to keep putting themselves out there and date.

But you can guess what happens. Yes, super predictable but this is what I’m here for. Jack and Hallie 4eva.

So many things worked in this story: the chemistry between them, the witty banter, their friendship growing, their respective cats. I even didn’t mind the MINOR third act breakup, because I always had faith Lynn Painter would wrap it all up in a way I love.

Also did I mention Zachary Webber? He’s becoming one of my favorite narrators, he’s got great comedic timing and it just works so well.

The banter was chefs kiss, but why did the main guy have to be drop dead gorgeous. Average weirdos need loving too.
