lynn painter and her third act breakups. her books are so cute that i enjoy them nonetheless but sometimes i cannot believe that the couple is breaking up over the tiniest little thing, and with like 2 chapters to spare always. 3.5 maybe 4 stars again!
Allll the stars! *edited to add more stars because I just cannot stop thinking about it. Convinced Lynn Painter can do no wrong with her books. This is easily one of my favorites. It’s fast paced, super cute and the best rom com vibes! Had me laughing and smiling the whole way through.
The Love Wager is technically the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. Can’t wait to pick up Mr Wrong Number next!

alright. characters felt pretty one-dimensional. i probably won’t remember much about the characters or plot in a few weeks.
Kept laughing out loud whilst reading! The banter between Hal and Alex was top notch, and I love communication via other means than words. Had several well known tropes which all added to this story.

This was my first time listening to a Lynn Painter book and I really enjoyed it. The banter and connection between the two main characters Hallie and Jack is both witty, funny and at times emotional.
Book tags:
Friends to lovers, dual point of views, fake dating, contemporary romance, humorous.
