Wholly different from Neon Gods with some linguistic similarities but no less enjoyable. I have a strong pull toward Hades and Persephone for some unknown reason but I really liked this Psyche and Eros retelling. Psyche is stunning in this novel and made me want to be her. The spice was less shocking than the first novel but no less entertaining.

Okay, so Eros is a book boyfriend that would make any woman practically feral. He hits all the spots, murderous, but soft and tender for Psyche.  Psyche is pretty badass too. I wish we had gotten to see more of what their lives were like before they found each other, but really there would be no room for that among all the sex. The sex in here is top-notch and copious.

It has been a long time since I felt myself get so invested in the overarching plot of a romance series. Katee clearly has a plan for Olympus and love-matching up the Thirteen. This book did a lot to both move that overarching plot along and make the reader deeply invested in the plot.

Psyche and Eros' story had quite a few redeeming qualities and A LOT of smut mixed with regretful and insecure emotions. I did find that relating to said insecurities was easy to do and although there was a whopping fifty something pages of a bedroom scene, I did enjoy this book. It was a little predictable,  but it's a good read for a small escape.

This is my first Katee Robert book and will not be my last!

This modern take to retell the story of Pysche and Eros was so different than other versions that I was on board from chapter one.

Eros is such a grumpy emo who is so stuck in this idea that he is undeserving of love, thanks to his childhood that it takes him a while to realize that regardless of what he's done, he can grow and be a better man.
Psyche is so different. Her characterization is definitely more modern and I love that she is described as a curvy, vivacious woman who has her own hangups thanks to society's views on beauty that have made her doubt herself and in turns Eros.

This has a little bit of different things I love; enemies to lovers,  marriage of convenience, and the unlikely hero not to mention it had fun dialogue, likeable characters and this can be read as a stand-alone even though it's no.2 of the series.

Going to go find the first book now 😍😍

I loved them together. I felt more connected to them as characters. I related a lot to Psyche and her internal struggles. I thought it was nice that societal standard of beauty were touched on throughout the book. I do wish they we could have seen more about how she keeps her feelings in check about being bullied for her size.

The smut was great. It wasn’t as kinky as Neon Gods but I felt more connected to the characters so I liked their scenes together wayyyy more.

I love Katee Robert's books and this one is no exception (dare I say I even liked this one better than neon gods & that one is AMAZING). Psyche & Eros' tension was so intense so of course the spicy scenes were *chefs kiss*. I really liked that Psyche was as supportive of Eros and he was of her when it came to his emotional struggles. If you're into "I don't share", one bed tropes, and revenge this book is for you.
