The Wish by Nicholas Sparks

The Wish is Nicholas Sparks’ latest novel and happens to be the first book of his fat mahm and I have read

What a beautifully told love story. Characters are people the reader wants to know. The main character Maggie, a pregnant teenager falls in love with Bryce in an isolated fishing village. A totally unexpected event for both of them and as the months go on their love develops and is never forgotten although their lives go in different paths. A beautiful, though not unexpected ending.

This was my first Nicholas Sparks book, as I’ve only seen the movie adaptations of his books previously. Although slightly predictable at times, I loved this story. I instantly fell in love with Maggie and Bryce and loved how the author so flawlessly went back and forth in time. As most of his stories do, this one will have you in a puddle of tears.

I was not sold on this book until I reached maybe page 100, but I just kept thinking it’s a Nicholas sparks book it has to get better. It took me months to read the first 100 pages, but less than a week to read the next 300. I must have sobbed for the last 50 pages too and it’s not very often a book makes me cry. It’s a slow start that absolutely becomes the most romantic, heartbreaking story .
