I knew I’d love Nate after his appearances in the earlier books and j was right.
Also, loved seeing Marcos get his happy ending too.
Honestly would have read another 100 pages of their story 🥰

I knew when we got to know Nate a bit better in On the Edge that we were going to be gifted a book for him. I knew it was a 50/50 shot, but one that very much came true with the least amount of wait time. To say I LOVE this book is an understatement. I'm not sure I can do it justice in trying to tell you why, but since I'm here, I'm gonna try.
Nate's energy was contagious from the moment I met him and didn't wane. Maybe it's because we both have similar ADHD experiences, but it's partly because of who he is is a person, albeit fictional. He cares deeply and is loyal. He goes out of his way for those he cares about and doesn't expect anything in return. Ever. Henri is by far the nicest human ever, but Nate is a close second. He's just ... energetic so it can easily get overshadowed.
Marcos. Bless him. I wanted to hug him so many times. It hurt my heart knowing he needed the hugs, the touch, the comfort... but was unable to accept it. PHYSICALLY even! I feel like the author handled his touch aversion with a lot of care—just like she does with everything else. He deserves the world and I'm glad Nate came along in his life. He was exactly who he needed. And it was the same in reverse. Marcos was the perfect fit for Nate. He brought a lot of balance to go alongside Nate's energy. I love their pairing.
I appreciate the author's approach to her couple's intimate life. There's more to intimacy than just the het-normative version we've been taught since grade school. You could feel their connection (the intimacy) in the quiet moments, the loud ones, and the ones you worried for their sushi while they... ahem... did things. Even when Marcos fought it, he expressed it. Almost like he was just as drawn to Nate as Nate was to him. It was heartwarming to see them get to know each other and watch their bond grow.
As with all of her books, I never wanted it to end. I always drag my feet on the last few chapters because I'm never ready to leave the story. The only thing keeping me going is knowing there'll be another one to enjoy. And all the many, many, many re-reads that will DEFINITELY be happening.
I strongly recommend this book for many reasons, but most importantly because it's one you won't soon forget.

Lately I've discovered an addiction for JJ Mulder (well, like, last year) and yes, I did read all of her books. It is with a lot of sadness that I say that waiting for another one to come out is torture because I need more. But okay. Let's talk about this one.
I'm not gonna lie, I forgot about Marcos. I didn't really like him in Max's book because he was very overprotective and once again we got that because the timelines crossed. Well, my opinion of him definitely changed as the book went on and I for sure love Marcos now.
As for Nate... I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! That man is more than a golden retriever - he's a DIAMOND retriever (whatever that means). He's the greenest of all green flags and sunshine in person. When he appeared in the last book I didn't know I would grow to love him this much but this is life and Nate might be my favourite character so far.
As for the book in a whole, I did enjoy it but I don't think there was a lot of story. I like slow burns and this one was very fast to burn - it was a match, and I prefer a candle. But I did enjoy it and I had a good time so it's a 3.5 for me.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK! I hope it's Micky - it HAS to be!
