The fucking mood whiplash going from

you-know-what getting decapitated to Hualian making out - i mean changing spiritual energy is fucking amazing.

I feel bad for SQX though, they genuinely didn't deserve this. But it raises a good question - does ignorance absolve you of any blame whatsoever? He Xuan has every right to be angry. Could even be angrier imo.

Fuck Shi Wudu though, bye bitch.

But all in all, this suffers quite a lot from being the most middle book of this series: there really isn't a conclusion to anything except SPOILER you know what - some nice relationship progression and some mystery reveals aside.

Hua Cheng continues to be the most simp <3 he is so valid. But to be honest, tgcf isn't by far my favourite danmei. A lot of it could be more condensed imo and way too much pagetime is given to the humongous cast of side characters. While I appreciate a good slowburn, sometimes Hualian's relationship progression is borderline glacial.
