The first time I read this book I was a young teen and it was one of my favorite books. Rereading it as an adult (21 y/o) it is just... so bad. The characters are not likable and the book tries to do so many 'deep' scenes or explore complex concepts that are just fake and/or poorly executed. It also sets a terrible example for relationships, young teens should not get any romantic ideas from this book. All in all it is bad and you should save your reading energy for another book.

A unique story and I really liked it!

Levithan is a tad preachy when it comes to his view of the world-- luckily I agree or else this might have been a rough read. I (unlike most reviewers I've read) actually like the fact that our protagonist, A, is an unreliable parasite and that the basic concept this book gives more questions than answers. I, as a reader, was able to develop my own themes and questions to ponder, which I believe is important for any book written for young adults.

i really liked how this book was written. it didn't have a slow pace, which made me put down many books for the past year or two. even though it's not a WOW book, it's really good and if you're considering reading it, you definitely should ;) it's also an easy read for non-english-natives who want to read in english. it's mostly narrated in first person (though sometimes in third, but you should read it to find out why 😉) and i read it super quick. the ending was kind of "meh", but the rest of the book is awesome!

A quick read with an intriguing premise...however...this book ultimately left me wanting more. I was satisfied-ish with the way the romance was handled, i.e. not too much cheesy dialogue, but there just wasn't enough substance, AGAIN. Like in many/most YA novels; boy/girl, or in this case "entity", meets their teenage love interest and instantly and inexplicably falls in the deepest love ever known to mankind with him/her. Just cue eye roll now!

I don't know how many more chances I can give YA before I just give up altogether.

Also, to continue with my unseemly rant, I was not too happy with the way the premise, which in and of itself is intriguing and one of the main reasons why I picked up this book, was handled in the end. We are left with no answers, no more information than what we started out with, and not even the feeling of hope or closure. This was, sadly, a disappointment for what could have been, if not a great book, than at least a good one.

The only things that redeemed this novel in any way were its depictions of all the different personalities and lives of the people A inhabited. A really great way to showcase the varying and tribulation laden lives of teenagers and delve into the human condition, Everyday may have had its ups and downs for me, but it didn't leave a totally bad taste in my mouth in the end, but it was just ok, in my very humble opinion. :)

Loved this one! Hooked up to every page!

This premise was entirely too freaky for me!!
