3.5 stars. I think that's being generous but I do rate a lot on entertainment value. While I was entertained, it's just so hard for me to read YA contemporary. But I keep doing it to myself.... Also, I'm not sure what I just read. I understand some of the messages he was putting out there. But, the end?? The point!? I'm just not quite sure of it all. I have to Google.

enjoyed this book too and was able to get through pretty quickly. i think i liked everything, everything a bit better though.
2024: I don't remember this book being so creepy; not quite the endearing love story I remember. An extra ☆ for the concept.
2017: What. A. Concept. Seriously, outstanding idea and well played off. The ending I was not expected, but ended perfectly. But if you are someone who needs closure after reading a novel, you won't ever find one in this novel. Thanks for the recommendation, John Green. Great novel, Levithan.

It was picking too much speed in the beginning with the romantic interest. Not gonna lie, I thought it was corny but I kept reading just to finish and I was pleasantly surprised on some parts. It was kind of poetic in those parts and I would agree with the main character’s thoughts. The ending was unexpected, but I mean I kind of didn’t know where it was going or how it was going to end anyways. A solid book. Middle school me would’ve loved it.
