this book is bugging the crap out of me. first of all, the instant love didn't feel realistic to me and therefore annoyed me. second, it feels like a complete after school special, with all of these issues being crammed down my throat. And although I agree gender can be a fluid thing, it really annoyed ME when A acted ANNOYED that Rhiannon wouldn't be attracted to him in a female body, like that made her shallow or stupid. The girl has spent one day with you, I don't think she's obligated to be in love with you yet.
The bottom line is this didn't feel like love, rather like A had found his/her manic pixie dream girl and was pinning all hopes and dreams on her. Poor Rhiannon - I say RUN AWAY, like I did, from this book. SORRY GUYS. Obviously lots of people love this book, but it most certainly is not for me.

Really interesting concept. I think finding out more about A would have been more exciting but I think being in the mystery of it was was really nice as well.
I think Leviathan also did a great job of explaining gender and sexuality in a way that is accessible. Seeing as this book was published in 2011, sadly it was ahead of it's time and is still relevant in that respect.
My wheel of at home TBR mayhem strikes again with another good read!

“We all want everything to be okay. We don’t even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding. We will happily settle for okay, because most of the time, okay is enough.”

Absolutely loved this book.
I liked that it told a completely new story.
Also the books way better then the movie..but that goes without saying.

I really love Levithan's writing. This was such an interesting concept for a story. A. is a teenager who wakes up each day in a different body. A.'s life has always been this, trying to make as little change to each life A. lives for the day, making no lasting connections. That is until A. wakes up as a boy with a girlfriend, Rhiannon, that A. does not want to lose contact with. A. struggles to make a relationship work with Rhiannon, even though there is no control in whose body A. will inhabit from day to day.
I have to admit, I didn't get A.'s obsession with Rhiannon. I found her character to have little depth. I thought A. inhabited much more interesting characters with much more interesting significant others.

An awesome book! It's very subtly LGBTQ+, but at the same time, it goes beyond accepting. It seems to inhabit the queer lives (much like A does). The story is compelling, and there are several times where A made me want to pull my hair out. In the end, though, I like the decisions that were made.
I thought this was a fascinating book. You really get to explore the meaning of life from many different angles. I would have liked some questions answered, though, and instead of doing that, the author teases us with the knowledge that there are others out there like A, but doesn't let us find out about them at all. I wasn't really satisfied with the ending, either, although I think that is more of a function of me liking my books to end with a happily-ever-after than of the author's writing.
