beautiful story from start to finish! Io is a lovable protagonist for her realist world-view and constant reflection and self-realisation throughout the story. With grand world-building, debates on fate and choice and the complexities of sisterhood, this makes for an amazing read for the start of the year.

That was quite a chore to get through, I’ll be honest. I’m not sure what it was about this book that didn’t grab me, but I really struggled to stay focused and finish it. It’s not that the writing was bad, honestly the author has a beautiful way with words. And the plot wasn’t bad either. I can’t put my finger on it, but it just wasn’t for me.
I will not be pursuing the second book, but I will say it did pick up speed in the last 1/4 of the book.

This book took me forever to finish - and I was listening to it via audio. It started off way too slow and honeestly, all of the diffrent names of the gods through me off and confused me. Once I stopped caring about the actual gods/fates it was easier to get into. The plot was slow and kind of boring. It did not get interesting until about hours before it was over, and thst becasue we were getting closer and closer to unsolving this "mystery." It wasnt really much of a shock, but I as able to still roll with it. I am even interested in how book two will be when it comes out in June of this year.
