3.5 stars. Interesting characters and concept but the world-building and plot were a bit chaotic and the ending left much to be desired. The tension fell off right before the big reveal.

A really interesting take on mythologies, and an amazing example of what I mean when I say I love books that are inspired by mythologies (inspired, not retold). The magic system was interesting, and I found the mystery to be interesting too, although I did manage to guess the plot twist pretty early on.
The romance sub plot was well written. I was worried going in, because the fated romance trope usually becomes the main focus, but this book wrote it very well as a sub plot while keeping the main focus on the mystery plot line. the romance was pure and not childish, I loved their chemistry and interactions and loved the characters as a whole!

I didn't really know what to expect from this story, but it was really interesting! The mystery, the sister's relationships, the mythology - it was all weaved together very well. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Absolute chokehold this book had and the twists and turns it took you in just to have a gut wrenching cliff hanger! Omg! I am so attached to these characters and I think the narrator did a phenomenal job bringing these characters to life!!! 10/10
I had a bit of a slow start to this book, but it was so riveting. I loved the non-binary and lgbtq+ representation/normalization. I also loved the fantasy and mystery genre combination, so cool! I hate a cliche fantasy or mystery book, but I was astounded at every new twist and turn of this novel.
