It took me a while to get into this book. I stopped listening to it twice before I finally decided to push on through.  But once I did get into it, it was really good.  The world is very well crafted and I love the way the different descendants of the gods have different powers. The love story was well done and handled the moral complexity of the fate thread (and the fact that she could cut it) well.  I figured out the mystery early on, but it was still a fun read. And I'm definitely looking forward to reading the sequel. It didn't end on a cliffhanger, but it definitely ended before I was ready for it to.

literally just ended...what the heck man no resolution. also plot/mystery was lowkey confusing. exposition took a while which is expected in fantasy. didn't really care that much about the characters tbh.

I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

Descendants of Greek Gods loving among mortals.  This book is about 3 sisters born with different gifts. The eldest sister Thais weaves threads, middle sister Ava draws threads, Lo the youngest cuts threads.

I really enjoyed the magic system and love learning more about Greek Mythology but I just couldn’t get into the book

I think it’s worth the read. Easy to follow and fast paced.

Posted to Instagram, but felt like I needed to add my review here too.

“One to weave. One to draw. One to cut.”

“To assume they let it happen was to make them responsible for a system that was rotten long before they ever came along.”

Threads That Bind is a Greek mythology based story where descendants of the gods inherit their powers. Io Ora and her two sisters are descendants of the Fates which means they could see and manipulate the threads that connect humans to everything they love. Io, who has the ability to cut these threads, works as a private investigator and her latest job leads her to a discovery where women’s life-threads are being cut and these women are being used as weapons. Io is forced to work with Edei Runa, who works with the mob queen, to find the culprit to these murders. But that’s not an easy task, not when Edei himself is at the end of Io’s fate-thread.

I’ve always wanted to read this because the cover is gorgeous! This being Greek mythology inspired was also a bonus. I decided now was the time for me to pick it up because the last book of this duology was finally out.

Threads That Bind was easy to read but there were a lot of confusing parts for me like the terms and what powers which descendants had. This one was fast paced and, if I remember correctly, everything in here happened within a span of a few days only. I could’ve finished this in one sitting if I didn’t have anything else to do. I liked that the romance didn’t overshadow the investigation because I was invested in the story. This one ends on a cliffhanger and I am so glad the next one is available for me to read.

Back in march one of my book clubs chose this book but I missed it because I was on vacation. So I was eager to delve into the ARC and see what I had missed.
My experience with the book was positive enough to continue with the series at 3.5⭐.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group Penguin Young Readers Group/Razorbill for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
