This book felt so directionless in comparison to Hendrix's two other books I've read. It could have been so much shorter and more impactful if less time was spent meandering around talking about nothing
It took everything I had to finish this book. I really did not enjoy it, it felt super over the top and there were scenes that made me feel deeply uncomfortable and actually laughable. It’s a shame because it has an interesting premise, particularly as someone who is usually terrified of clowns, puppets AND dolls. This was nearly a DNF

I loved the twist on the haunted doll narrative, and the info part at the end really added vital context for me.

3.5 stars rounded up. I slogged through this because it was so weird, but that is Grady Hendrix. Once I shook off the ‘odd’, I cruised through. The characters didn’t develop much for me throughout the story, and I wasn’t really invested, just wanted to finish the book.
