I've really been trying to figure out how to finalize my thoughts on Addie LaRue, and I just can't? (Fittingly enough) I really, really like it but I don't quite love it, and I think it's because I wish Henry got a bit more development. But over all, it is fantastic, and I would recommend it to a wide range of readers. The writing style in particular is really beautiful without being overly flowery. And it's honestly one of the most unique takes on a Faustian tale I've seen.

ps I've seen a lot of people saying that this book, especially the beginning, is repetative, and I just don't buy it. It's all very exciting and interesting to me, and more than that necessary.

I wanted to like this story, especially because the writing is so beautiful.  The words, and scenes are a cross between poetry and art.

It is the ultimate manic pixie dream girl vs depressive demon nightmare boy, I felt it was trying too hard and was somehow ¿oversaturated?

While I found the pace a little slow at first, it's definitely worth the read. The catches in Addie's deal make her "gift" feel realistic. It will definitely make you question your own life, the relationships you have, and what the meaning of it all is.
I legitimately cannot decide whether the ending is sad or bitter-sweet. Not in a bad way, but in a thought-provoking, "what is life" kind of way.

I really liked this book, it took me more time than I thought to finished it, but it was an enjoyable reading, the story for me was incredible, I would just liked it more if there was more diversity with the people Addie met, and the places she stayed. But overall I think everything is great and I definitely recommend this book :)

I give it a 4.5, just the lack of poc and other places bugged me.

The only reason that this is not a 5 stars is just because I'm not sure I would reread this, but it definitely deserves higher than just a 4. This story is so unique in my opinion and so well written. I love the format that makes you jump through time periods and makes you want to know what will happen so badly, only to have it cut to another time in history.
I was really excited about reading this book and finished it very quickly, for me at least. I think this is a beautiful adventure, with romance that isn't cheesy, and makes me want to run out into the world and experience it all.
