Bartlett does it again! His new series is off to a thrilling start.
What happens when humanity becomes dependent on a wormhole for colonizing a distant part of the universe and the wormhole suddenly disappears? It’s like a scene from the Wild West with the Mega-Corps seeking every advantage possible. Alliances will be made and broken.
Before the wormhole’s collapse, Commander Tad Thatcher was transferred from the U.S. Space Fleet in the Milky Way to Frontier Security Corporation, a private corp fleet in the distant galaxy known as the Dawn Cluster. There he must battle space pirates, other private corps space fleets, and the return of an alien enemy.
How will Thatcher confront the new challenges he faces? He must navigate the culture of a private corp fleet and turn it into a cohesive unit to survive what is coming. The future looks grim, and the chances of Thatcher returning home to his wife and unborn child in the Milky Way looks bleak.
Bartlett creates another riveting story that grabs the reader. Look forward to seeing where this series goes.

If you are looking for a long space opera with plenty of military influence you will enjoy this book.
It was interesting enough that I would entertain reading something else from the author. There are much better space operas out there that I would recommend first. My biggest complaint with this book was the lack of character development. The characters personalities always adjust to what is needed from the author. Overall its an okay book, I'd look to find it on sale. The audio book narration was good.
