Main character has too much emotional drama going on. Too stressful for me to read right now.

Good start, pretty creepy, anticlimactic ending

This was a twisty true crime thriller! I honestly had no idea where this one was taking me until the end! Elsie was smart, tough, and quirky. She was wading through so much trauma, and that sometimes led her to make questionable decisions. Her relationship with her kids and husband, Mitch, were strained because of the circumstances of her trauma. Her relationship with her partner was more of a push and pull. They had an understanding between them due to the nature of their jobs. However, all of her relationships felt a little surface level to me at times. The plot shifted back and forth between Elsie’s POV and The Kill Room. I liked the way it kept me guessing, but as the ending got closer it was a little confusing. However, it made the big reveal feel more shocking. The ending was fitting and wrapped up the loose ends. However it did feel a little anticlimactic.
