This book is so beautifully written. It is a story of salvation and redemption. A story of true love and saving grace. Tallie and Bridge are complex, beautiful characters who have both endured tragedies and help one another learn to live with those hurts. The end was beautiful although the outcomes were not what I had hoped in some ways. I loved that this book is set in my hometown. I will read anything else this author puts on paper.

The whole story boiled down to racism? Racism?? I don't know how I feel about that. I however do appreciate the conversation around mental health.
Also for a therapist Tallulah was making a lot of 'red flag's decisions.

The premise of this book seemed really interesting, but I had a lot of issues with it. It was trying to address some serious issues— trauma, mental illness, suicide, the stigma surrounding therapy— but didn’t seem to be doing so in a very respectful manner. I also found the inner monologue and actions of the 40-something year old protagonist to be unbearable. Not to mention super ethically questionable ???
