A cute graphic novel about achieving your dreams and being who you are. This is possibly the lightest way to cover such material so this is ideal for middle grade kids to read. There were mentions of toxicity in several relationships, particularly how the main characters separate but there will be a resolution.

i adored the style it was drawn in, and the story was refreshing!

sebastian and frances are a pair i never thought i’d come across, but i’m so glad i did. the dresses were all gorgeous, and i loved the various fashion show scenes. sebastian’s confession made me taken aback, but then the scene with the king going out with him in a later show was so wonderful to see. i wished that princess juliana would come back and possibly apologize, but nevertheless, i thought it was a good ending.

just a cute, fun, and quick queer read, which is exactly what i was looking for:) i appreciated the way the author addressed difficult themes around queerness without falling into harmful and upsetting tropes. such a delightful work of art!
