I've lost count of how many times I've read this book over the years.

Charli is one of my favourite female main characters ever. I'm convinced she's a little unhinged but in the best sort of way. I think I love her so much because I'd love to live my life the way she does.

It also wouldn't hurt to have someone like Adam Decarie in my life.

I loved the setting, the atmosphere, the pacing, the characters and the overall vibe. This is such a hidden gem but in a way I'm glad it is. I want to keep this close to me forever and ever.

I happened to find this book through a list of free Kindle readings and I was so intrigued with this story I finished it in one day and proceeded to purchase the rest of the series. Walker-Smith is amazing!

Oh wow! I have really mixed feelings about this book. I was sucked into the story really quickly and I was thoroughly enjoying the story, reading it quickly to find out what was going to happen. I got to the ending…and I was quite disappointed. It’s not a bad ending as such, it just doesn’t give any closure whatsoever, which is a shame.

I really liked our main protagonist Charli. She’s a feisty character that doesn’t always follow the rules. Charli has plans to leave Piper’s Cove with her best friend Nicole as soon as they finish high school. They’ve been saving for years to be able to fulfil their plans to see more of the world. Obstacles begin to fall into their paths and secrets begin to be revealed.

The biggest obstacle is Adam, an American French boy that Charli meets. They fall in love pretty quickly. Adam is a character that you can easily see why the protagonist falls for him. Adam is only on holiday in Piper’s Cove and aims to return to New York in a few months time.

One of the biggest obstacles is the American French boy, Adam. For Charli and Adam, its a love-at-first-sight relationship. I can’t really blame Charli though…Adam can be pretty swoony. Catch being is that Adam is only in Piper’s Cove on holiday and will return to New York in a few months.

I think some of what happens in Saving Wishes is a little predictable, but I have to admit to being surprised by some of the curveballs that G.J Walker Smith threw into the mix.

Despite being frustrated by the ending, G.J Walker Smith has me completely interested in reading the next in the series.

This book wasn’t the most stunning book ever. But I fell so in love with the story that I couldn’t put it down. The characters were everything (yes, looking at you Adam & Alex) and there were twists I wasn’t expecting in the slightest. Overall, I loved this and I seriously can’t wait to finish off the series.

I loved the story line because it tells the story of an almost broken girl and a boy who tries to get her to see her for who she is. I felt that the setting helped explained some of the characters and their actions, thought, and feelings. I loved how the author set up the book and felt that the author did a pretty good job in introducing all the twisting and turning that went on in the book. In some parts of the book I felt that I was disconnected with the characters, but that was one of the only problems.

Charli Blake was an interesting character to say the least. Her reactions and decisions continued to surprise me and I liked that about her character. The author wrote her with a strong personality that anyone can connect with and appreciate. I liked that she didn’t always make the right choices and wasn’t the perfect lead character that always did things right.

Adam was an character that really changed Charli’s opinions. I liked how his presence affected Charli and how she responded to him and the many situations they were put in. I felt that sometimes Charli wanted to go way to fast for a guy she just met, but luckily Adam managed to slow her down most of the time.

Overall the book was a pretty good read and I look forward to the next book in the series. I will be reading more books by this author and publisher in the nearby future.

***I received this book as an eARC for my honest review and opinion.***

The reviews I am reading are very mixed here, as is my opinion of this book. There are some really good parts. Very YA and full of angst. Very attention grabbing and page turning. I truly lived the characters - all of them at least to start with.
On the other hand... Really? Really? To let go so easily. Of more than just the "love if her life". What? No reaction at all to Nicole's actions (trying to avoid spoiler here!)? Let's just not say anything? And the Beautifuls just disappeared into the background. Too many unexplained things for me. Surprised I'm giving this a three (yes, it is still a bit better than my usual 2)

ohmygod -- excuse my language.

The series starts off with so much potential. It's truly a romance more than a realistic YA fiction piece, and that's what makes it come crashing down. The first couple books are fine, and I had a lot of hope that this could end up being a fun little 4-star piece... but then the plot just gets a little too insane and unrealistic.

I'm fine with unrealistic plots, but then don't parade yourself around as YA realistic fiction, y'know? The main protagonist is young, and the "adventures" she goes through in subsequent books are just so outlandish that I couldn't finish the series.

The only reason this gets 2 stars and not 1 is because I did enjoy the first couple books.
