Trigger warnings: violence, mental health, death of a parent (in the past), blood, gore, torture, emotional abuse, animal death.

I was excited to read this purely because the dynamic between Carter and Gavin is so fantastic in the third book and then you get Carter's delightful "Am I bi?????" moment and it was just a joy.

This was darker a lot of the time than I anticipated. It deals a lot with separation from family and making the hard choices for something you're not sure about, and it turned out to be great. It took me a while to get into it, but the complex nature of Carter and Gavin's relationship is great and I really enjoyed the way Carter fights for what he wants.

There were some occasionally funny moments in this - namely, a certain gift from Joe and Kelly - that had me cackling out loud. But the ending was...a little less focused on Carter and Gavin than I would have liked. But that's probably a Me Thing rather than a Book Thing.

Oh, how I cried. A beautiful ending to a beautiful series. Made up for the mistakes of the prior book. This story will stay with me for years. Bravo.

I found this book slow at times, especially the beginning, but it grew on me. The romance between the two characters was sweet and well-done. However, the focus of this book was on the bond between brothers and family (biological and non-biological members) which is what makes it special.

The Green Creek series has come to an end. It was everything I wanted. Pure joy, love, acceptance and perfection
