be so for real, y’all. this book was boring as hell & could’ve been 100 pages shorter. i would’ve dnf’ed if i wasn’t reading for a book club. the payoff of the mystery is not worth slogging through the first 350 pages, especially when it’s not hard to figure out.

Je donne la note de 4,5/5 à ce chef d’oeuvre. Quelle plume magnifique et quelle histoire captivante ! Ce livre restera à jamais gravé dans ma mémoire

This was a very interesting book. It takes you back to the an old Spain. The author put a lot of detail and does a great job of describing the suroundings of the city and of the buildings. Everything described in the book looked very vived in my imagination. A lot of the side stories were very longed and at time I felt that the main story wa getting dragged on too long, but at the end I didn't see that every detail of the side stories was nessary and relevant to the main story. All in all it was a great book.

This book gripped me for all 486 pages. Bone-chilling, heartrending, breathtaking.

Overly long, but well written and chuckle inducing at times, many of my biggest laughs were at the expense of the sex scenes. Self-styled lothario Fermin easily stole the show. Worth a look/listen if you have 20 hours on your hands.
