So I used to think I liked this book and it’s hailed as an amazing book, and now in my 30s and wiser this book is seriously racist. These descriptors alone: "a big, smudgy-eyed Chinese woman staring idiotically into my face," "dusky as a bleached-blonde negress". WTF.
