I really like this series. Looks beyond the crime that’s the focus of the case to justice, corruption, influence, and has a clear eyed view of the biases of the law. A son of a wealthy family is kidnapped and the mystery remains unsolved - dark family secrets are revealed and Brunetti is also slowly learning that he may need to learn how to work a computer as he is continually amazed by what can be found online.

Slower paced than some of her books, but a pretty decent one all the same. Provides some really interesting insights into the complex and fascinating world of Venetian aristocrats. Tragic story, very good read.

Had several charming character moments, but the plot really fell apart at the end.
