Love Brunetti's persistence in finding out why someone committed a crime and who it was. Also for the fact that he wants justice even in the face of an unjust and corrupt legal system. His sense of family is strong and should be admired.
An early book and I appreciated how she was building the relationships and the character. She did a lot more telling than I like than showing.
Having fun reading more Donna Leon - missing Venice, it is great to "live" the city in her words.
This book was particularly good, I thought. Maybe Leon is hitting her stride mid-series, and they'll just get better and better. (I hope!)
Hmmmm...just okay. Neither gripping or compelling just...okay.
