I found this to be mostly very funny. You wake up a bug and are constantly worrying about going to work? Relatable.

this took so long to read. i enjoyed metamorphosis and a couple of the other short stories but i think i haven’t adjusted to kafka’s writing style just yet.

i’m upset. throughout the story i thought gregor would EVENTUALLY return to being human, that his family would be kinder, that they’d reflect on how poorly they treated him while he was going through something horrific, that they’d treat him better considering he took up a job to pay off THEIR debts, send his sister to a conservatory with his own money, but instead they treated him like trash, a burden. and worse, they allowed other people to disrespect their son who sacrificed his own life and happiness for them. i hate the samsas.
