I felt bad for the protagonist, at the same time, I could not blame the family.

We like to think we could never be as horrifying as Gregor’s family, but truth of the matter is this is our human default. Metamorphosis makes you rethink how you treat those with chronic illnesses or disabilities and hopefully stirs great empathy in its readers.
