Not the read I was hoping for. I was thoroughly interested in learning more about Australian bushfires after reading the Royal Commission into Black Saturday and was hoping for a similar narrative-style lens on the human impact. The Fires Next Time had a strong ecological focus which did not personally interest me. I read probably half of the chapters and flicked through those that were too far from my interests.
