Took me a little while to get into it, as I found the writing a bit dense at times (very descriptive, could distract me from the narrative). But once I got used to the style I got immersed in the story and engaged with the characters. A bit of a slow burn but not too slow. All the characters felt very real (ie flawed!) and while I didn't pick up the ending I wasn't super surprised either. A good read if you are patient and have time on your hands

It has been quite a while since I read this book. I thought it was a well written mystery novel. I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good mystery (that is if you haven't read it yet or seen the movie).

Listened to audiobook. It is always disappointing when the narrator mispronounces local town names, businesses, etc.

Poliziesco* amarissimo, una storia di vendetta e mancato riscatto che ha il respiro dei grandi romanzi americani. Denso e a tratti commovente, i personaggi sono ben caratterizzati ed escono dalle pagine. Prosa davvero molto bella.

* componente evidente soprattutto nella seconda parte del romanzo. La prima, che narra dell'infanzia rubata, è permeata da un senso di nostalgia e dramma molto stephen-kinghiano.
