Less slapstick than the film and with more heart

This was a cute quick read. Some of the narratives of adult men disgusted me but wasn’t too surprising. And was how it was back then. Also, it depicted high school life quickly but pretty accurately. Not a bad fast read if you like a quick book.

I loved this short book. Perrotta's writing is really engaging; I couldn't put this down.

Another Fiction class assignment, about a high school election, adultery, teacher-on-student action, blossoming lesbians...my professor is a twisted bitch. I like her.

The writing is a bit amateurish at times, but the story is so funny and rings so true (really) that it didn't bother me. Of course I saw this movie years ago, but I don't think it adapted the book very closely; I could be misremembering, but I almost skipped the book because I'd "seen" it. Glad I didn't -- this is fun read.
