Election

Engaging throughout. The author does a great job of making every character feel unique and authentic. Some of the descriptions are biting and wildly creative. Every character feels fleshed out and faulty in some way.

I wonder why they didn't keep the same ending in the movie but oh well.

Every character was either neutral or a bit unlikable. I guess the moral was that everyone has issues & sometimes we just have to move on (i think? idk). Easy read with a decently interesting plot line.

Complicated situations written in a simple YA style. Maybe this is high school appropriate? There is nothing extremely explicit. Sexual and family drama. Adults making very bad decisions.

I love stories about politics. I love stories about high school. I do not care for the unrealistic stories about teachers' affairs with students.

Written during the election cycle in 1992 it references politics of the time and a high school election for student body president. Written in the perspective of a few different characters. Sex, lies, and student issues intertwined.

Entertaining read but the film is such a perfect clone of it. It's basically a bit like reading a script. For once, I'd probably veer in the direction of saying the film is superior.
