I literally laughed out loud at some of what I read particularly when Tracy called that man a “big baby”. The men in this book are f**king disgusting but, it just reaffirmed reality. It’s crazy when you think about it but the actions of the main men are driven by their reaction to the women. I know there’s some commentary there but I’m not smart enough to get it.

Now I’m ready to read the sequel.

Read this and then watched the movie. The book was good, enjoyable. But I think this is one of those rare cases where the movie is better.

i can’t decide how i feel about this book yet…i had to read it for my lit class and while it was obviously a piece on masculinity and the patriarchy, i don’t really think i liked the way that message was crafted?? it was hard to tell if the author was criticizing some of those things or if he truly believed them.

Okay spoiler alert, I’ve seen the movie, but it’s been a minute. That being said, while they influenced the way I viewed the characters, I still really enjoyed this. It’s a really quick read - doesn’t take long at all to finish! I wanted to get through this one before my library hold on the sequel, and if you want a fast, comical satire with other layered issues, this one works!
