I think if you read and just go with the flow you’ll enjoy it more than jf you start analyzing the different elements. This book was not a wow factor. It had some of the fun quirkiness enjoyed from Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine but the writing felt a bit more disconjointed. There were also elements that didn’t feel finished, but not in the way that you would expect a sequel. The premise was fun and engaging enough that if you are looking for something that is a little different and a quick read I would say give it a try.

The rating is what it is because it had some good foundation, but the thing I was really excited about -the treasure hunt- was like 20% of the story. And the rest of it was just meh. I still dont really understsnd what the purpose was of some characters and why they were there in the first place.
Watch me forget about this book the very next day.

One of my favorite reads in 2021. Love that the story is set in Boston and that we got to go on adventures around the city with the characters. Tuesday was written so well and believably I feel like I would recognize her on the street.
The title alone had me eager to read it, but once I knew that there was a mystery to be solved I was even more excited to slip into Tuesday's world. This was definitely a book where what I bring to the table as the reader shapes my experience of the story. In Tuesday I found a kindred spirit in her love of spooky novels and her cat care-taking; in Dex I saw my own worst self-doubts reflected back ; in Dorry I saw my hopes for the ways we might see the people we loved after their gone (for me my Dad whenever my Dad appears in a dream it feels like getting that peek into the unknown that Dorry is searching for; and in Vincent I suppose I found someone I might aspire to be more like- in kindness and a penchant for capes. I see a very cape-filled retirement in my future.
This book got me right at the core, wanting to continue to see each of the characters grow and transform into slightly stronger or braver, or more whole versions of themselves. And I was surprised that the hunt for a mysterious fortune provided so much opportunity to do so. Not all mysteries presented in the book get solved, and not everything gets tied up in a neat bow- but I felt such a gut-deep sense of satisfaction when I finished this book.
If this all sounds fairly vague it's because I really don't want to spoil anything about this book. I have family that lives in Boston and I'm so excited to share this novel with them because it also paints the the area in such an interesting and vivid way that I imagine it's all the more engaging to someone who knows exactly where these scenes take place.
