Tuesday Mooney works for the fundraising arm of a local hospital. At their big annual gala, an eccentric donor dies, and it is soon revealed that he has set up a treasure hunt for part of his fortune. Tuesday's friend Dex is the first to tell her about it, but soon there are all kinds of shifting alliances. Tuesday gets a little too into the whole thing. Also, her childhood best friend who disappeared/died? way back when still talks to her or maybe Tuesday is a little eccentric herself.
This was fun. It is a high 3.5 stars for me, and it was a good break during a stressful week. I appreciated how it was as much or more about the characters than the game, but if you go into this thinking it's all about the game, you will be disappointed. At least 1 of the characters didn't quite felt more like a character than a real person, but overall enjoyable and pleasantly complicated.

It’s been a while since I’ve found a fictional character I identified with as much as Tuesday Mooney. We’re both researchers. (I’m a librarian.) We’re both dedicated introverts. We both love to learn weird things. So reading Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts, by Kate Racculia, was an exciting read. After all, how many times does a person like Tuesday (and me) get to use her skills at digging up obscure information to track down an eccentric billionaire’s fortune?

Meh. It turned out to be far more rambling than I would have liked. So much potential for an engaging story, but I was left wanting.
god. usually, my taste in books is literally anything and I tend to enjoy the majority of what I read (probably because over 20 years as a reader i'm able to curate what I like fairly well at this stage). that said, it's rare that I find a book and i'm like: THIS is the one i've been looking for. that reminds me why i'm a reader and why I spent a good portion of my coin on, basically, a reading degree. I didn't really know what this book would be or what it would become but I do know that it is my perfect book. I don't even know why or how but this book reached out and it grabbed me and it belongs to me, now. it's my book! I loved the story, the puzzle, the way the mystery unfolded and the way everyone found a purpose, at the end. that everyone and everything was okay, in the end. that generosity and goodness prevail.
