A fun, intricate board game writ large. Well-developed characters, both good and bad; a fun mystery coated in nuance and nostalgia.

I just loved this book, absolutely delightful

I read The Westing Game and this was no Westing Game. Too many side stories without enough closure.

This book is so weird and y'all all need to read it right now.

I read her first book, "Bellweather Rhapsody" and just couldn't get it. I saw this on the new shelf at the library, was intrigued at the with the title and the blurb, and kind of blocked out the author. Am I glad got it! There were many parts where I laughed out loud and today audibly gasped at a big secret near the end. And the end! I was happy with it! If you didn't like the first book, try this one.

Was it the definition of quirky? Oh yeah. Did it push some unbelievable buttons? Most certainly. Was Tuesday a mix of Lydia Deetz and The Craft with a splash of Daria? You better believe it! Did I love every minute of this book? Hell yes I did. I am so going to be purchasing this one and I can’t thank my library enough for having this pop up on a list. I was sold when I read Tuesday was an introvert who would rather just watch Twin Peaks and X-Files on DVD. It’s wonderful to be able to deeply relate to a fictional character.

So maybe I was expecting a little too much from this book, but wow was I wildly disappointed. It was just a little too fantastical for me. Good luck to my fellow readers.

I pictured Paul F Tompkins as the dead rich guy.

SO much fun. Love the mystery, love the writing, love the Westing Game-style millionaire puzzle-will. The characters are terrific too. I’d round up to four and a half stars.
(At one point I actually thought “This HAD to be written by a librarian”, flipped to the back cover author info, and confirmed. Yep!)
