I do believe Tuesday talks to merely one ghost.

I’ve had this on my TBR for a while, and I’m glad a read it in audio format. I don’t think I could have gotten through it as a written document. It’s not that it’s a bad book, but I think it suffered from bad marketing.

This is not a sci-fi book, and it’s not really related to the Westing Game. There’s a mystery, and a lot of rich people running around, and people dealing with loss and grief. The ghosts are debatable, and while they inform the story, it’s not really about them.

There are four main POV narrators, so at times it feels like you don’t get to know any of them particularly well. Actually everyone except for Tuesday could have used more grounding. I kept getting Archie and his brother confused, despite the twist and with his brother being completely irredeemable. Dory was cute but I wanted more of a resolution with her father. And Dex deserves his own story, not being a side kick to Tuesday here. I liked Tuesday, she felt real and made the most sense.

I really like the idea of an eccentric billionaire making a treasure hunt for his fortune, mainly because I had a bunch of fun with Ready Player One. But this one was somehow very slow and way less enjoyable. There were so many characters in it and none of them were all that gripping to me so that certainly didn’t help.

The concept got me in but it got progressively worse from there and unfortunately this one just didn’t do it for me. It was sorta like Ready Player One but instead of 80s culture it was Edgar Allan Poe, which didn’t intrigue me as much. I’m sure there’s an audience for this book, unfortunately it wasn’t me.

This book was delightful and one of my favorites I read last year! It was interesting and exciting, and I loved the backstory of the characters. The mystery was captivating, and I loved every second!

This one took me by surprise. I went in knowing nothing about it and thoroughly enjoyed it. The multiple povs brought something new to the story and I loved every narrator.
