I loved the format of this book, particularly how it came across as an audiobook. The main character is creating recordings on his iPod to send into space. Other characters are narrated by other voice actors, so it becomes like a dramatic recording. Very entertaining. The story itself was good for a while, although it dealt with some heavier topics than I anticipated: mental illness, abandonment, domestic violence, etc.

Adeline really liked it, and I loved listening to this with her on our commutes.

DNF about a third of the way in. So far it's an 11 year old rambling on about things that don't intrigue me. I don't see myself enjoying this book if I were to continue reading.

Another quality read about a quirky kid figuring out his family, and finding his tribe. Sad, but uplifting.

Alex: And I wonder what’ll happen when you DO find it. I wonder what you’re going to think when you listen to these recordings, when you hear the sounds of a boy from planet Earth trying to be brave and a boy trying to find the truth, and a boy who loves his family and friends and his dog that he named after his hero.

Ella: Kiddo, I was mesmerized with your recordings and your streams of consciousness. So fragile and full of feelings.
