Could not put it down. Literal edge-of-your-seat suspense.
Very good, I've read this three separate times. Each time I read this I find something interesting I hadn't noticed before. Did get a little graphic in some parts, but overall tame.
EDIT: 5/6/23
The first “official” review I gave does not fairly represent my enjoyment for this book. Despite reading this book several times and noting various details in every new read, I can say after this last time it solidified my love for this book. From the heart-wrenching encounters between the characters to the graphic scenes that were hard to digest, the dynamics threaded throughout the book help connect every last idea. The 343 paged novel is worth every minute I have devoted to it.

Niet slecht, maar ook niet heel geweldig. Dit is geen boek wat ik niet kon wegleggen of aan iedereen zou aanbevelen.

I LOVED this book! Thrillers, space, contagions… those are some of my favorite topics to read/watch independent of each other, so this book combining them all was awesome!! Some of the writing was a bit strange, especially the authors use of the phrase “at once” so often but easy to gloss over. I loved how the story really tied itself together towards the end and it had me say “oh sh*t” a few times throughout!

"The enemy was the microbial world, and over the centuries, it has killed more people than all of man's wars combined."
I recently realized that I had only read two physical books so far this year, so I decided to pick up my copy of Gravity on a whim. I admit it's only been last month that I finally read one of Tess Gerritsen's books, but I definitely understand why so many people seem to enjoy her work now. While this isn't my typical read as I don't usually read a lot of books set in space, there was just something about the premise that intrigued me immensely. I'm glad I did get myself a copy now all those years ago, because I quite enjoyed my time with this story. True, there were things that didn't work that well for me personally, but as a whole this was still a more than solid read for me. Gravity kind of took me by surprise though, because I definitely didn't expect the story to be this dark and gory! Especially the second half, where things become truly intense, is NOT for those with a weak stomach. That said, it took me a while to properly warm up to the story. I think this has a lot to do with the overdose of NASA acronyms... While there is a glossary provided and it does add to the vibe, it also slowed down the pace considerably. Certain scientific talk and NASA procedures also read a little too dry and weren't able to keep my attention. That said, especially the second half was a lot more engaging, and I literally flew through it as I had to know how everything would end. I'm suspecting her regular medical thrillers will work better for me, but I'm still glad I read Gravity as well.
