This book made me furious and broke my heart into a million pieces at the same time. It is incredibly heavy and I had to take multiple breaks while reading it. But it was so beautiful and so important.

Took me awhile to get into book, pace felt slow. Beautifully written parts about love of all types. Enjoyed 'seeing' Alaska through author's eyes.

Someone I went hiking with back in May on the Appalachian Trail recommended this book. I’ll listen to the audiobook. I’m pretty sure it’s based on a true story and even if that’s true, I just didn’t like the story at all.
