At first I didn’t think I’d enjoy this one and in the beginning it was looking like it would just maybe be okay but as I got into it I got attached and wanted everything to be okay. Classic Kristin Hannah story. I got sucked in and felt like maybe I held my breath at times. What a story.

This book remains one of my favorites.
The setting is so immersive and I was immediately invested in the characters. This story packs such an emotional punch.. genuinely cried my eyes out for the last 50 pages.
KH definitely had something to say with this book. None of the themes are subtle. She hints and hints and hints until she eventually outright says them.
I was so worried to reread this. Since reading this book in 2021, I’ve probably convinced almost 10 people to read it. This book is deeply personal to me and I can see myself reading it over and over again throughout my life.

Once I started, I couldn't put it down. This book sent me on an emotional journey and Kristin Hannah's ability to make you feel everything Leni felt is incredible. I'm a big fan of her work, but this is my favorite book of hers so far! A must read.
