Tropes: Grumpy-sunshine opposites attract romance between a rich influencer (FMC) and a grumpy deep sea fisherman.

At first I really did not like the FMC and found her selfish and vapid, but her personal growth and character development were both very deep. The MMC was someone I liked from the start - his stoic, practical, routine-driven personality was appealing.  I did not buy the InstaLove here, but the relationship gradually became more believable as it unfolded.

The sexual content in this was absolutely gratuitous and took a lot away from the story. I skimmed / skipped it all.

10/10. This has got to be one of my new favorite romances. I wasn't even planning on reading this book right now but I am so glad that I did. I am not usually someone who has book boyfriends or crushes, but Brendan has made it to the top of the list (with Peeta Mellark, obviously). The first about 100 pages were a little mediocre but after that, I practically couldn't put the book down and was constantly thinking about it even when I wasn't reading. I love the character growth from the characters and all of the ensemble characters as well. The ending felt somewhat abrupt with not a lot of resolution time but not too much that it threw me off. I love this book and I highly recommend.

Rating: 5/5 stars

Piper Bellinger is an influencer who gets sent to the small seaside town of Westport, Washington by her stepfather after she gets arrested. She doesn’t expect to fall in love with the town…or the hot bearded sea captain she finds there.

BRENDAN TAGGART, ladies and gentlemen. That’s it, that’s the review.

No, but seriously, I love me some fictional men, but the immediate and probably unhealthy obsession I developed with Brendan and with this book totally caught me off guard. I could not get this book out of my head while I was reading it, and have a feeling it will stay there rent free for some time to come. Honestly, if a man doesn’t tell me he’ll love me until his heart gives out, do I even want him? (No, I don’t.)

Also, there was a Hannah/Fox moment that nearly made me cry, so I cannot WAIT to read HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER!

If you like romance, please read this one!

I enjoyed this book some scenes had me kicking my feet and giggling and others had me cringing this book is spicy with a happy ending no cliffhangers no cheating and no love triangle i thought this book was cute Piper did get on my nerve’s towards the ending though that miscommunication/misunderstanding at the ending i feel was a little unnecessary but i did love the male main character every scene that he was in i enjoyed so much this book follows a rich daddy's girl getting in trouble so her stepfather sends her to a small town where she lived as a toddler but her mother moved her to LA when she was four because something horrible happened and when Piper and her sister Hannah go return to this little small town as punishment for piper thats where we meet the male main character who is a widowed big and tall fisherman i did find some scenes pretty annoying in this book are main character Piper did have a whole lot of problems within herself that i feel she brought into her relationship with Brendan which cause some unnecessary bickering between them I don’t want to say to much and end up spoiling the book and this book also has Enemies to Lovers,Opposites Attract,Small Town Romance,Grumpy x Sunshine and it’s a Slow burn overall i rated this book 4 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read this book as part of a summer romance reading challenge, having heard a lot of positive reviews online for Tessa Bailey's writing style. I am going to warn anyone who does not like a smutty or steamy books to AVOID; I got way more than I bargained for with this one. Although this did impact my enjoyment of this story (I like to read the sexual tension not the graphic detail), the narrative arc and the writing style do deserve praise.

Danger in a man can be exciting to a woman, until it's not anymore, then it's shattering.

Bailey constructed a gripping narrative, with predictable but breath-taking twists where our characters are forced to make tough decisions which as readers we would not want to make. Bailey's world-building and setting descriptions were beautiful, naturally talented, and engaged a reader's imagination.

There was a ghost between them, and a ring on his finger, and all of it needed resolving first.

[...] making her close her eyes, press her forehead to the tile wall, and ask God, very politely, to bring this stubborn man home safely.

Overall, this story had a good level of tension and tellability, but the sexual content was too severe for me to enjoy, the characterisation was a little uncomfortable, and the plot predictable.

This book was so cute and I did really like the storyline a lot more than I thought I would. The main male mc was incredible and very well written. I loved the character development. It was a little cliché and the plot was a little obvious but i went into it knowing that and expecting that which helped my rating. The spice is also amazing in this book!

Cute rom-com book. The characters were lovable. I forgot how much I love Tessa Bailey’s writing!! I thought the relationship moved very fast and the small internal battles were resolved quickly. Overall, a cute summer read 💕

I really enjoyed the first chapter, I loved Piper's 'bimbo' personality but she seemed to change dramatically the second she arrived at the fish city (I don't remember the name because I haven't read this book in so long).
I was pushing through just because I wanted to know how they would resolve the issue, but realistically, I won't pick it up again because it's just not my thing. Brendan isn't attractive to me other than some basic things; the whole expectation that she would move bothered me tbh.
