Shit people do shit things to other, slightly less shit people. Elder abuse, nasty people, boring stereotypes.

Amazing twists and turns, a very easy read and a gripping story with lots going on. The writing was sometimes a bit too descriptive and I found it initially slow but then ploughed through it once I got into it. There were a lot of characters and so some lacked depth. There was some slight misogynistic tendencies in the writing, particularly from the DCI (the figure with the most power in the book) and the detectives weren’t really developed as characters. Was obviously a gripping read though because I finished it very quickly, which is often unusual for me.
