Good story, and short. The male narrator only read the epilogue. I didn't care too much for the female narrator.

How many different ways can I say I'm loving this series?! We'll soon find out won't we!

I love Irish and Valentina's story. It's a short but sweet story. It gives us a bit of insight into side characters; giving them their own stories but not being an entire story.

I loved that we got to see Valentina's growth and how well Irish supported her. Definitely recommend but I'd say you do need to read the others to read this one.

Totally grabbed this book on my audible package because,
1) it was a super quick audio (maybe 2 hours long?)
2) it was a quick book for a challenge (or two) that I needed to complete

Therefore, I didn't hesitate at all when diving into this bad boy. In Dirty Ride you will meet Tina and Irish. I feel like I might've missed something important since this is a 3.5 book in a series.. but I have zero regrets about the whole thing.

Now Tina is dealing with a crazy psycho ex. She's constantly on the run from him.. but it doesn't help that he's a cop. Now this is kind of reminds me of a Nicholas Sparks book.. but I went with it. Then there's Irish, who is a motorcycle gang.. and kind of feels like he needs to protect the shit out of Tina. Definitely insta-alpha, insta-lust, and insta-love going on. I liked it but it wasn't my absolute favorite book.

Overall, the drama was okay. The smut was better. If I had to choose my favorite character.. uhh… I'd pick the crazy ex because Irish and Tina were just kind of meh to me. I'm not a huge fan of insta-anything.. so yeah.

3.5 stars!

I'm harsher on novellas. I can't imagine how hard it is to write what you want to be a complete story into just a little over 100 pages. However, if I feel like the story isn't fulfilling, even if I did enjoy it, I'm rating less than I probably would if it was a full length OR if the story felt complete. Most often than not, I feel like novellas are incomplete stories. Maybe I should I stop reading them... nah!

This one is no different. I really liked Tina & Irish; liked the plot, even if it was one that has been done more than once in the MC book world. I just wanted more; I wanted a more fulfilling story. I hope to see more Tina & Irish in subsequent books!

Triggers:
OW/OM drama:
SpoilerYes, there is OM drama. However, this is because the plot line is centered around Tina escaping her abusive junkie ex. The ex doesn't want to let her go and ends up finding her in her new safe haven. This is downplayed a lot though due to the fact this is a novella. The book is more focused on the MCs relationship.

Condom use:
SpoilerThey do not use a condom. This is decided after he asks her if she's on the pill. She is; they both state they are clean. He offers to use on if she wants.

Violence:
SpoilerThere is very little detailed violence.

The following triggers were not found:
Spoiler*There is no cheating, separation between the H & h, no manwhore or virgin issues, no other sex scenes besides the ones with the main characters, no rape, only illusions to drug use.*

Irish gets a novella and it was oh so fun! We haven't seen much of Irish in the previous books. He's quite mysterious and keeps to himself, not giving a lot of straight answers to basic questions. He goes for Valentina right away and it was nice to see so much of their book be just about their relationship. There isn't a huge plot here--horrible, abusive ex-boyfriend who also happens to be a cop--but it's enough to keep it interesting. I'll be curious to see how these characters will work with the other established cast, which we hardly see here.

Tropes: m/f; MC/biker romance; dangerous, scarred biker meets cosmetologist starting a new life; semi-slow burn; crude language and sex throughout; violence, murder, death, and characters in peril; abusive ex-boyfriend who has drug problems.

Heat rating: HOT—sex scenes throughout with explicit language, which adds to the overall story and relationship.

Irish

Sigh. My only complaint is this should have been a fill length book. I did love it but so wanted more of Irish and Valentina.
