fast-paced

I didn’t find the repetitive mentioning of “little tuna” to be too much, unlike the turtle references in the coworker. I feel like a lot of this book could have been shortened had
Teagan been able to get to the hospital…

To say this was a disappointment is an understatement….!
The book felt so so repetitive, boring and predicable.
The first 20 pages were great then went downhill very fast. Honestly felt like we were reading 300 pages about Tegan’s “very sore and swollen left ankle” and calling your unborn child “little tuna” the whole book and often it was a little much. Even the twist at the end with her brother and then Hank was predicable and felt very rushed. Overall it was just too repetitive, very boring and extremely predictable disappointing read from Freida McFadden unfortunately.

DID NOT FINISH: 12%

No trigger warning on the audiobook and had a lot of content right from the jump that needed a TW.

This book made me a little too uncomfortable with her being pregnant. I did check the trigger warnings and felt fine about it especially since most are in the beginning of the book. However the pregnancy added stress for me that was unnecessary to what was actually happening in the book. Pregnancy and thrillers should not be a thing in my opinion…

I think Tegan is one of my favorite characters Freida has written though but Polly wanted me to rip my hair out 🙃 that chick is psycho and needs way more help. Hank kinda carried the book but I wish he had some more development and same with Jackson. I usually expect a big twist with Freida but this one really feel flat to me… there was just nothing that crazy. Then the ending was wrapped in a bow that I don’t particularly agree with… I was close to DNFing the book but I needed to know what happened. Glad I finished it but also disappointed.
