These thrillers are always good. You can never tell how it’s gonna go. I always enjoy the twists and turns with this author. The women could be slightly more badass in my opinion but truly you can never go wrong picking up a book by this author. It’s always going to be good.

"How do you know what’s right or wrong without your mother telling you so?"

Freida McFadden's books are often referred to as so-called popcorn thrillers, and I can't deny that it has been a fitting description so far. Her books tend to be both fast-paced and easy to read, focusing on the entertainment level instead of a complex plot and lots of character development. The Crash is no exception to that rule, and I literally flew through it in an afternoon. That said, I agree with the reviews that this is not her strongest book... The plot is on the weak side, and quite repetitive in parts. Her infamous shocking final twist tactic wasn't all that successful either this time around; while I definitely didn't guess where the story would go, I found the twists to be rather underwhelming to be honest. The Crash started out well enough though and especially the first two parts were quite entertaining. I enjoyed the bad weather trope, although the resulting situation was too much like a Misery rehash (and King definitely did it better!). I guess it's an improvement from some of her previous female main characters that Tegan at least tries to get herself out of the situation for a change, although she still isn't the brightest bulb in the box... Which results in more than one very frustrating moment. Polly is so much worse as a main character though and I can't say that I enjoyed spending time inside her head. I wasn't a fan of the prologue and epilogue either; instead of blowing me away with an unexpected twist, it mostly just distracted from the rest of the plot. Still, I can't deny that I couldn't stop turning those pages, and it is without doubt a very fast read.

okay this one was interesting and just an off-the-shelf audiobook that I picked up.  it read in a Criminal Minds type way, very mysterious. i was eager to keep listening. i think it would have been a pretty god page-turner if I was reading the physical book.  overall you don't get a lot of answers or background throughout, and there are a lot of twists and turns. an okay read / listen if you want to fill your time.

I’ve seen so many positive reviews for this author but I could not get into this book.  I really hated the writing style and the main character.  It read as if the fourth wallwas broken constantly.  The main character got on my nerves so many times, the pregnancy aspect was an ick for me.  I have no idea what really was the actual point of this story.

Five stars without hesitation. I could not put The Crash down and finished it in just one day. The twists were absolutely wild and kept me guessing the entire time. Tegan’s lack of survival skills added so much tension, and I was constantly wondering how she would make it through. Polly’s mental unraveling was something else entirely. There were moments I truly pitied her and others where I just couldn’t stand her. Freida McFadden did an incredible job making me feel every bit of that conflict. The pacing was perfect, the atmosphere was gripping, and the ending completely blew my mind.
