Henry has a knack for for writing failed relationships so realistic that some of her descriptions in this particular book hit almost too close to home for comfort. This, on the other hand, make you long for the romance the main characters manage to find throughout the story, the fantasy of someone who is "just right" for you permeating not just the pages of the book, but your own needs, tethering you to the possibility of this someone being out there - somewhere.

How to turn a typical (almost cheesy) premise into a heartfelt romance about finding yourself.
Emily Henry's done it again. She had this unique ability to write romances that are really about self discovery and working on your problems. Like wow. So emotional. There's always points where
The romance works because they genuinely fit together within the persons life and what they want to do. Miles and Daphne (a small critique is that it took me like 10 years to work out her name), both nurture each others dreams, respect each other. The quote about liking all of someone, not just the good - wow. Love them.

”I thought about taking a video of myself giving you a lap dance, but I don’t have anything to mount your phone on, so this was the next best thing.”
“I will happily go back into the woods, find some sticks, and build you a tripod, Daphne.”
About a year ago, someone I love told me they really enjoyed this book.
A year later, I might just be bumping everything else she recommends up my list, because this Emily Henry I originally had no intention of reading is now my favourite Emily Henry.
A POV character who is flawed but not (too) infuriating, a crushworthy male main character, an unhinged but somewhat believable rom-com premise, chemistry off the charts, and laughing while kissing LAUGHING WHILE KISSING.
Miles Nowak, I love you.
That is all.
