I usually really like Zapata’s slow burn and i know this one was a favorite of many but i just couldn’t get into it. i didn’t like Sal and I didn’t like Kulti, i felt like the story was dragged for the sake of a slow burn and it was just plain boring.

Kulti rendered me speechless - I am almost positive I have lost the ability to form words.
I wanted to cry at how beautiful this is - and that's saying a lot considering I'm not usually a crybaby. I can't believe for a second that this sweet, wonderful book has ended already. I couldn't part yet from Kulti and Sal. I want more from them. Scratch that, I NEED more - like my desperate need for a coffee in the morning, or my unhealthy need to hoard books during a long weekend. Hell, I'd offer my kidney to Mariana Zapata just to glimpse a couple more pages of this book.
I really need a moment to form sensible words...or else I wouldn't be able to stop gushing, and it would get so annoying you'll have no idea.

This one wasn’t as good as the wall of Winnipeg. There was something missing, idk how to describe it. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the story and it was a fun read, there were a few things that bothered me. The names they had for each other were a bit cringe. Bratwurst and schnecke ? No thank you. I also felt like there was less chemistry between the two main characters. Overall enjoyable but not perfect.

So many readers have raved about Mariana Zapata’s novels and while it took me a hot minute to actually read one I am so glad I listened to their recommendations. Zapata’s novels are extremely unique and her ability to bring such an epic love to the pages while also slowly building the romance within the story is incredible. I smiled a LOT when I was reading this one and watching the characters grow TOGETHER was an amazing experience for me.
I think one of my biggest dislikes about this book though is how SLOW the romance was. I get it, everyone told me it was slow, but I couldn’t believe the snail pace of the story! I’m not even saying this in a bad way, but it’s important to note that when readers say it’s a slow burn they really mean it. How slow you ask? Well, the book is just about 600 pages, and the romance doesn’t even start until about 460 pages in
