I’m not sure I would categorize this as horror, but it was a very atmospheric haunted house story with an underlying unsolved mystery. All of the characters were dynamic/interesting and the story itself was super engaging from start to finish. I was a little surprised by how sad it was at times. The ending? The title? HEARTBREAKING. I won’t list CWs to avoid spoilers, but be mindful that this deals with some heavy and sensitive topics.

Story: 3/5
Audiobook: 5/5 (narrated by Siobhan Waring)
Length 9h35min

“What a charming conceit it is to communicate through flowers instead of words.”

Huge houses with a sketchy past and a lady slowly trying to figure out what the hell is going on with this haunting is such an interesting time and something that can almost always help get me out of a reading slump. It was pretty good for a debute and I had such a good time using this one as my night time kindle read.
